NTB-National Tire & Battery at 840 West Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois.

I’ve been going to ntb for years now. Whenever someone asked me where to go I would always tell them to find an ntb. However this place has made me change my mind for good. Got a set of 4 new tires and specifically asked to put the warranty on them. (road hazard and all). Didn’t think much of it because so far they’ve always understood me. They finish the work and the tech takes my car for a “test drive” which is a little suspicious because never in my life has someone needed a test drive after installing tires. Would that test drive have happened if I was bringing in an early 2000s minivan? Most likely not. But because I have a “faster car” I guess that changes things in their eyes. Now when I leave I had somebody waving me down from the road telling me my wheel is wobbling like crazy. So I bring it back and turns out they forgot about some spacers for the centercap of my wheel that made it so the wheel wasn’t fully seated on the hub. (No biggie I’ve worked at plenty of shops and understand things happen) now fast forward a couple months and that tire has a problem that required replacement. Normally this isn’t a problem because in the past I have ALWAYS bought the road hazard warranty. But to my surprise it was never added ( I can except some fault there for not doing my own due diligence) so at this point I don’t have any other option. I have to fork up $200 for this ONE tire. Now the next day comes and I notice my car pulling to the left so I get out and check and sure enough they put the wrong size tire on the one that was just replaced. So again, I go back after work and all I am told is that nothing can be done unless I want to pay for ANOTHER new tire because there is no store manager present to do the refund. 99% of people won’t ever read all of this but I don’t know where else to go for some sort of peace of mind. Needless to say the $1000 a year I normally spend at ntb will now go to another tire shop.
